History and Vision
Polytech America was established as a joint venture company in 2016. In 2020, Polytech America introduced a new strategic initiative and management scheme and moved our operations to our new facility in Canton, Ohio. The Canton facility is approximately 100,000 square feet and contains a new laminating line completed in early 2021.

Our Shareholders
Toyo Kohan manufactures and sells tinplate, sheet metal, and different types of surface-treated steel sheets as well as a variety of functional materials. Our company began as a maker of tinplate. By extending our technologies to the precision machining of materials such as nonferrous metals and plastics, we seek to achieve a business model unlike any in the global steel industry.

Toyota Tsusho America (TAI) is a multi-market, multi-business enterprise which has been operating in North America for over 50 years. Based on both the heritage and the vision of our parent company, Toyota Tsusho Corporation, the trading affiliate of the Toyota Group companies, we have greatly enlarged upon our traditional trading business model by developing new manufacturing, intermediate goods processing and logistics activities in United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
We are Toyo Seikan Group
The Toyo Seikan Group is a business group comprising Toyo Seikan Group Holdings, Ltd. and its 88 subsidiaries and 12 affiliates (as of March 31, 2019) and is primarily engaged in manufacturing packaging containers by processing various materials such as metal, plastic, paper and glass. It has also developed its operations in steel plate related and functional materials related segments, which have derived from its core packaging business. The Group provides its products for a wide range of customers from beverage and food companies to household products manufacturers.
Toyo Seikan was founded in 1917.Two years later, we started manufacturing metal cans using automated can making equipment for the first time in Japan.
